High School Never Ends

I did some ‘blog strolling’ this morning when I bump into Lhu Wen Kai ‘s blog. After reading few of his post, I came to realize that he’s not a she, but he is one of the brilliant man I’ve bump into. You could sense the honesty in his writing. The sarcasm makes it even more fun to read. You did a tremendous job man!

I was inspired by his post ‘Friendship and Graduation‘ that I decided to write about it. I’ve left school 11 years a go and let me tell you something, just like the song from Bowling For Soup, High School Never Ends!

The whole damn world is just as obsessed
With who‘s the best dressed and who‘s having sex,
Who‘s got the money, who gets the honeys,
Who‘s kinda cute and who‘s just a mess
And you still don’t have the right look
And you don’t have the right friends
Nothing changes but the faces, the names, and the trends
High school never ends

I must say, this is true. Because  for the past 11 years, the high school drama thing still exist. My high school (secondary school in Malaysia) was not as pretty as it seems. I was a new girl in school and I was having a little problem adjusting myself at first. I was not very happy with how my parents moved to our new home – they sent me away to my grandma’s house and stay with her until the school terms begins. In other words, I didn’t have the chance to say goodbye to all my friends back at my previous school. So, when the school term started, I was a little upset and down because I don’t know how to start over. So, I was labeled as the snobbish new girl from Subang Jaya (Subang Jaya is known for hipsters and stylish people were from) which is so opposite of me. I was brought up in a modest family. Even some of my classmates are more hipster then I was.

For the past 4 years in secondary school, my life was totally filled with bad memories. Just imagine, one day, a friend who you thought to be your best friend, come to you and say “I think you should change yourself, be more like what we want you to be”. I was devastated and my self-esteem dropped from that moment on. The worst part is when your so call best friend go to your boyfriend and say something bad behind your back. That really hurt, it still hurts until now. It was a lesson for me in not to trust people so much because you’ll end up hurting yourself.

I was lucky to have found them. They are my definition of best friends. They accept me for who I am and we always support each other in what ever we do. I love them.

The Camera

Photography has been my hobby since I was 11-12 years old. My father used to have a Canon SLR (can’t remember the exact model) that uses film, and I will always be the one to hold the camera and took pictures of anything that is interesting from my point of view.

As I grew older, SLR became pretty much expensive and compact camera was introduced into the market. I was excited because it will be much easier for me to take pictures and not have to go to the shop and developed the film. Unfortunately, my hobby or my passion for photography was seen as a waste and expensive. and so I thought “there goes my hobby.”

As I entered university, I had the chance to met up with few people who happens to love photography as much as I do. They introduced me to DSLR and boy I was wrong about the price! and again, there goes my hobby.

Night Light. Camera: Nikon Coolpix

But one day, my lovable boyfriend (who happen to be my brilliant husband now) bought me a compact point and shoot camera , Nikon Coolpix. Years later, one of my university buddy wanted to sell his Nikon D80 and that become my first DSLR camera. I was so happy, it was like buying myself a diamond ring!

A year later, Nikon came out with Nikon D3000, so I sold my D80 and bought D3000 and I am the most happiest person alive! My diamond rock just get bigger and shinier. Years later, we got married and he said to me lets sell your camera and share Nikon D90 for few years. and Yes, I did sell my baby D3000 to my brother in law (at least my baby got to stay in the family).

About Me Part II

Nisamir is the combination of my name and the first man that I have ever love, and I will always love him forever, my father. I started to use this name since I left school. It was kind of cool, because most people combine their name with their boyfriend or spouse but I prefer to use my father’s name instead. It gives a more genuine feeling when you actually say it.

Malaysia is my home country, a country where I was born and brought up. I never once leave my country. Yes, I know it’s kind of lame but it is more to ‘never have the opportunity’ rather than ‘just love her country too much’.

Story of my life is not interesting as others, but it is definitely a roller coaster ride. True story. Every where I go, there will be trouble waiting at every corner. But, those are the challenges that I’d to face. Challenges that makes me grow as a person, care and acknowledge my surroundings and always appreciates those who really accept me as I am.

My hobbies keeps me distracted from those who does not matter, while my interest keeps those who matters close to me. I love them, and they will always be apart of my family, forever.

About Me

I’ve created a page about myself when I started this page. It’s more like a short biography of me. As time goes by, i;ll be adding more thing in there so that you’ll know me better. for now, lets just continue with the lesson.

P/S: I love doing this. It gives me a reason to switch on my computer everyday.

Future Reader

This may sound so ambitious but I wanted to write about what I’m most comfortable off – Business, Islamic Industry, Photography, Food, and Travel. Well yes it is a lot but i know I’ll manage to find the link between them all, and that my friend is my Goal. Short and simple!

But to be a good writer, you should be able to attract the best critics. You could only make the best out of you through learning from mistakes and taking advice from the wise. They are the people who will push you to the very edge and make you think twice in making deciding on the right decision. and that my friend, is also my Goal.

So present reader, please be the best mentor to me, because you will be the one who will shape my future writing. Enjoy.

P/S: My schoolmate, who happens to be my husband’s best friend, is moving to Japan. They did spend sometime together yesterday before he leave today, but I know deep inside, he’ll miss him. Dear friend, what ever happen to you in the past, lest them stay as it is, because today you have made the decision to move forward and let tomorrow be as bright and wonderful as a beautiful sunny day. I wish you best of luck for your future undertakings and may you find what ever you are searching for. Farewell and until we meet again, one day.
